God doesn’t care what your problems are. i have been in countless mental hospitals and go to a free clinic and there are millions of people who can’t function without medicine. Count on that. The most common reason for people to have a relapse of symptoms is because they stop their medicine. Sure, there is a way to ween yourself off medicine. Ask your doctor, and if you are dead set on doing it you can expect nothing but more depression and insomnia.

each person is very different in how they react to treatment. some people (like me) will more than likely be on medication till i die. others, like my friend, take it for a long period of time and then they are able to be weaned off. it depends on the medication also. if you are speaking of adhd meds, some people grow out of adhd as they get older – or they are able to control their symptoms better as an adult and dont need the meds anymore. try focusing on how your life has changed since taking the medications. are things better with the meds? if so, isnt it better to be feeling good as things are now? questions to ponder.

See: WITHDRAWING SAFELY- WITHDRAWING FROM PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATIONS in section 1, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and DEPRESSION PAGE Z.22 TAPERING OFF DRUGS: DETAILED METHOD, in section 2, and view page R, then read at least the first 3 pages of section 2, which includes advice on tapering off antidepressants, but it is unwise to discontinue any such medication "cold turkey".

Take at least 2, and preferably 3 weeks, before trying supplements, or herbal remedies, if tapering off antidepressants is involved. Also worth trying are the depression forums at http://crazymeds.us & http://www.psychforums.com

ADHD is addressed in sections 22 – 25, at ezy build, and insomnia in section 3; see page O first. The ADHD medication may well be causing the insomnia, (see http://www.drugs.com & http://www.rxlist.com) and some insomnia medications add to, or cause depression, and they should never be used for more than 3 weeks, after which, accept a couple of nights of poor/no sleep, or try an OTC product, short term, then switch to something like valerian, and finally, something like chamomile tea, or SLEEPYTIME, or BE SLEEPY, from supermarket tea aisles.

Eventually, you should reach a point where you can cope, just using the relaxation techniques to allow you to sleep easily.
Alternative treatments for all these things are available, and many of them are shown in ezy build.
